Calling Dedicated Novelists
Welcome to Fall. It’s been a time of deep reflection for me and a time of celebration.
I want to tell you about a new investment level for the upcoming Plan Your Novel course and an awesome opportunity to Plan Your Novel students. But first I want to share with you a bit about my WHY for the work I do.
I’m passionate about crafting compelling fiction and helping dedicated authors do the same.
To that end, I’ve been building my school, Barany School of Fiction, for the last two years. I now have courses in:
- planning your novel
- writing your novel
- editing your novel
- marketing your novel
- publishing your novel
The whole kit and kaboodle!
Our courses, co-taught by me and my husband, writer and teacher, Ezra Barany, can be taken independently as homestudy courses or taken when we offer them live. (Like our October Plan Your Novel course. Registration closes: Sept. 30th.)
Because I know that writers like to work at their own pace within structure, all courses have lifetime access, so you can take your time with them.
Speaking of structure, most of our courses are structured as 30-day challenges because most writers I know, myself included, are deadline-driven. Whether or not you complete the course is not as important as giving yourself the challenge and stretching your capabilities a little to achieve something you’ve never done before. Or to give yourself a space to play within.
Recently, I had the pleasure of attending a workshop by Lisa Cron (Wired for Story and Story Genius) at the StoryExpo in LA. I love what she said about creativity, and I paraphrase…
She said that creativity without structure is like peanut butter without a jar, one big delicious mess all over the place, but you can’t do anything with it.
Her metaphor made me laugh and highlighted one of my main motivations for the courses I’ve created: I wanted to create a school where novelists, specifically genre novelists, could learn the craft, get the support and tools they needed to create successful books and careers, and to create a supportive environment to do so.
One of the main values that underpin all the work I do with authors is that creativity is play and play needs serious playtime.
Students tell me that our courses are comprehensive, fun, clear, and motivating.
One of our past Plan Your Novel students recently exclaimed to us in our Facebook group for alumni students:
“Ok. Thank you Beth Barany and Ezra Barany for giving me the tools to help me outline my stories. I finally finished an outline for my next novel, Diann Keeps, Savvior of worlds!’
This was the first official outline I’ve ever done for my novels! And dog gone it, its really making me more prepared to sink my teeth into the story now. My first novel came to me fairly quickly.
For my other novels. Outside of ideas and small snips of scenes about them, I had no organized thought about them. I fell back on my studies and assignments back at the Barany writing school, and it’s been a lifeline when I feel a wee bit stuck. Okay, enough talk gotta get back to business! Thank you beth and Ezra Barany!!!”
As I mentioned at the start of the email, I want to share with you about a new investment level for the upcoming Plan Your Novel course and an awesome opportunity to Plan Your Novel students.
Some writers have told me they have limited funds but wish they could take the Plan Your Novel course because they want to be ready for Nanowrimo (National Novel Writing Month). They want to start writing their novels with confidence and clarity.
I want all authors who want it to have access to our planning tools because they work!
I realized I do have an affordable option.
If you’d like to join the October 2016 Plan Your Novel course, are a dedicated novelist, even if you’re a beginner, you can join for 12-payments of $30 per month.
I don’t normally offer this opportunity to the Plan Your Novel students because the group program is open to genre novelists who have a manuscript completed or partially completed and know they want to pursue a career as novelist.
But if you feel dedicated in your novel writing endeavors, even if you’ve not yet written a book, you’re welcome to join the Group Coaching program by enrolling in the Plan Your Novel course for $30/month, the Call to Adventure level.
Please be aware that this is a 12-month commitment because writing, editing, and publishing a novel for a first-time novelist is a long-term endeavor.
You can read about all the benefits of the Group Coaching Program for Genre Novelists here.
Also, be aware that once you join at the $30/month level, you also get:
- All the homestudy courses we’ve created!
- Huge discounts on all live classes ($20 fee waived for the October class)
- Two monthly group coaching calls throughout the year
- A private Facebook group with weekly prompts, support and accountability, and place to get questions answered at anytime
You can sign up for this level here:
