Your Next Step: Novelists, Define Your Success by Beth Barany
How do you define success?
Author Success
For me, I define it as getting to my writing regularly — you know, the butt in chair action, and where the work gets done. That’s the first part of success as a writer for me. The second part of success for me is getting my work published and read.
How about you? How do you define success in your writer’s life?
Write me and share your definition of success. For those of you on Twitter, share it there too and tag it with the hashtag: #writersuccess. You can also tag me: @beth_barany.
Embrace What’s Next
In the last 9 months I’ve been transitioning from a coach who helped all kinds of writers to a coach who helps only novelists.
To that end, I’m launching my new program for novelists at the start of May. More on that below.
The Hierophant — The Teacher
Today I want to share about the archetype of the Hierophant, or The Teacher.
Yes, I am a teacher, and heavily identify with this role. But when I’m stuck in writing my fiction, I look to my teachers — be they books, my peers and critique partners, and my primary supporter, Ezra, my husband.
When you need help in your writing, where do you get your support?
What kind of support do you need?
