This week I’ve been discussing story structure with my classes and it started me thinking about how the steps of the Hero’s Journey might look if I were to try and trace those steps through my own life.
Taking the Plunge – NaNoWriMo. I’ve made up my mind to participate in this year’s NaNoWriMo, the challenge where hearty and fearless writers commit to writing an entire novel during the month of November.

What do you love most about summertime? Is it the annual vacation to a familiar place or a place brand new? Is it the food – cookouts, crab boils, grilling up a storm? Is it the taste of watermelon, ice cream and popsicles? Maybe it’s having some time to rest, rejuvenate and perhaps even write a little, or (if you’re lucky) a lot.
I’m grateful for the inspiration to create this “prism” character, and I look forward to seeing her become fully-realized. While I’ve written biopics before, I believe this project represents something new for me.
