This is #4 in a series of articles on Creativity and Inspiration for Writers. Tips shared here are inspired by my ebook, Overcome Writer’s Block, and will soon also be part of a course at We Write Books community

How can we be a better writers? Or maybe you’d like to get re-inspired in your writing.

We can step away from the words and dive into the source of humanness: our bodies and our sense of touch.

What does it feel like? Both through your fingertips, your skin, and through your emotions…

Touch an Orange

I love the feel of wool; paper of a good book; my cats’ fur; my husband’s beard; the heft of an orange; the balance of my yoga stick; the warmth of my husband’s pal.

It’s refreshing to run my fingers along the wool at the yarn store. It’s calming to pet Leo the cat and feel his rumbling purr on my chest when I hug him. It’s relieving to massage my scalp and to have my husband massage that spot on my back, ooh that one that always gets tight.

What physical things in your life do you love to touch?

How does it make you feel?

What touches you and moves you?
