If you knew you could increase your chances of getting a book deal, but it would take 1-3 years, would you do it? That’s the questions I asked myself as I started to read Christina Katz’ Get Know Before the Book Deal: Use Your Personal Strengths To Grow An Author Platform.
You may think that writing a nonfiction bestseller is hard. But actually, a nonfiction bestseller is easy to create and sell, but not simple. If you just put into place a few key aspects, then you will have a book your audience can’t wait to buy.
It’s really hard for me to write about myself. I’m almost always writing how-to posts, sharing tips and tricks about writing, and sharing what I know about other people and their cool resources. What is the hardest for me is to reveal a weakness, share a foible, admit a fault.

You’re in charge of your schedule. So set up a game you can win around social networking. Have a goal, which is how you “win” the game. Overall make your goal 100% attainable and fun, unless you also need to know you’re climbing to the top of a really tall mountain to motivate you.
