It’s one thing to write a book. It’s another thing to write a book about the end of the world as we know it. When I penned State of Emergency, I wrote about the immediate effects of an EMP on the United States, and how one girl survived against all odds. With State of Chaos, the initial shock of the disaster has worn off, and things are turning really sour really fast. Chaos has a lot of survivalist adventure in it that the first installment did not – and by survivalist I mean a lot of things.

First, Cassidy finds herself imprisoned in a labor camp, like I said in the blurb for the book. That’s a big problem. Surviving in a labor camp takes some serious stamina, and it’s different than surviving in the middle of the forest. Your enemy is not just hunger and thirst – it’s also the guards patrolling the front gates.

Second, Cassidy finds herself in a race against a force far bigger than she is: Omega, the shadow army that’s rolled in and started taking over the country. It’s too big for her to fight alone, so to survive this invasion, she’ll have to have help. Professional help. Good help. Fighting help.

There are all kinds of survival stories. Survival in the wilderness, survival against impossible odds in impossible situations. State of Chaos has a little of everything – which is probably why I opted to go with this specific title. (I’m so clever, I know.) It’s a fight against an incredible odds. It’s a romance. It’s a little comedic at times. But underneath it, you still have the basic structure of a survival plot.

I hope you enjoy it!

State of Chaos – Collapse Series #2

Cassidy Hart has had better days.

Her dad is missing. Her friends have been captured. And modern society is pretty much gone, thanks to an EMP that destroyed the technological infrastructure of the United States.

Surviving in the foothills of California is a challenge, but with the help of former Navy SEAL Chris Young, Cassidy’s been able to stay alive.

Until now. Omega, the shadow army arisen from the chaos, won’t stop until every single survivor is either under their control or dead. Taken by soldiers and forced into a labor camp, Cassidy must turn the tables on her captors. Escape means everything. Unfortunately, staying out of Omega’s crosshairs is easier said than done.

You can run.

But you can’t hide.

Cassidy’s about to learn that the hard way.
