On to Our Interview!

Q. Tell us who you are and what inspires you to write

A. At age twelve, she found that she can also write poems and stories. From there, she started her journey and it still continues …

Rabindranath Tagore’s, Walt Whitman’s and Shakespeare’s poems made me inspire to write Bengali and English poems. The natural environment and real life incidents also influence me in writing.

Q. How did you get to this place in your life? Share your story!

A. I am a teen writer born in a very Bengali middle-class family. At 12, I started writing but was not supported by my parents.

But at 15, I published my short story “The Brightest Moon” in The Statesman and proved that I am a good writer.

I write poems from my own struggles and pain.

Now, I am writing my debut poetry book and will soon be launched by a hybrid publisher, Writer’s Pocket, based in India.

Q. What are you most passionate about?

A. Nature, writing, human life, and psychology, sometimes even mythology and romance.

Q. Can you tell us a little bit about your writing process, routine, and/or rituals around your writing?

A. I roam around the house to get an idea about writing, and when I get an idea, I write at least a word of it in my notebook and later, write it whole.

Q. What are a few challenges you faced in creating, marketing, or publishing your creative work? And your solutions to them.

A. Sometimes, I face slow internet connection and sometimes I face bad arrangement in books after publishing while on a marketing platform.

Q. What’s next for you in your creative work?

A. I am writing a debut poetry book A Poetic Heart: Poems on Self-Compassion, which is selected (sample selected) and will be published under Writer’s Pocket a hybrid publisher based in India.

Q. Is there anything else you wished I’d asked? Please share!

A. “Never give up your efforts.”
