Writers, Track Your Sales

BookTrakr screenshotToday I want to give a shout to the new service still in beta booktrakr.com. From their site:

Would you like to have your sales numbers compiled for you, instead of checking Amazon, B&N, iBooks, etc. every day? Would you like your ratings, rankings, and reviews collected and saved for you, too? Would you like an email every morning with the highlights of your books’ previous day activities?

You can sign up to be in their beta program here: http://signup.booktrakr.com/

I don’t know how I stumbled upon it — I’m always curious about the latest gadgets because I do really believe that tools can help us work better and smarter — and I’m happy I did.

Within moments of creating a login, booktrakr asked me for my logins and passwords to 3 main book vendors: Kindle, iBooks, and Smashwords.

Tip: I recommend you have your logins and passwords handy so you can add these into the system.

What you get after you’d added all these in, is a snapshot of your overall sales in every channel.

Other cool things:

  • Kindle sales are even broken down by the different Kindle stores, amazon.de,  amazon.co.uk, etc.
  • You can label each of your books with a color and play with how your sales numbers are shown.
  • What I like best is that they email you each day with a snapshot of the previous days sales figures.
  • The advantage of this tool for me is that all our sales (mine and Ezra’s) are in one place.

And hey, they didn’t pay me or ask me to give this shout out for them. I just have taken it upon myself to share cool and useful tools with other writers to make our lives easier so that we can get back to what we love the most: writing. (Or, is that having written?! LOL)

  • Great tool – thanks for explaining it here.

  • Beth Barany says:

    You’re welcome, Suzi!

  • Hale Pringle says:

    Very cool,

I was hoping it would track things other than just books, but once I read the post, I understood that it was specific to that niche.

    Thanks for Sharing!
    Dr. Hale

  • Janet says:

i will definitely keep this tool in mind in the future. i am wanting to get on the amazon kindle bandwagon 😀

  • Anne Dovel says:

I wish I needed this tool ! 🙂 Some day! It’s fun to refer stuff that you use and love. Saves time for me when I’m looking for a specific app and someone else has gone to the work of trying out several within a niche and reporting on it! Great job!
