Community for Novelists
I did it! I launched Novel Writing World today.
I’m nervous. I’m jittery. I’m going to holiday party, and NOT staying at home to nurture my baby…
And I’m sure I’ll have a lot more to say on the subject as time goes on.
For right now, I’ll answer the question I think you’re asking, which is WHY?
Why create your own online community?
- Why not?!
- Okay, I’ll stop being elusive and just say that in all my years (2+) of playing on social media, I’ve really come to love it. So much so, that interacting in that way is my preferred way of communicating with people. You’ll see — this community allows for that kind of connecting!
- Journaling is the core of my online community. (Thank you Journal Engine!) And that meshes perfectly with my work. Journaling and self-reflection are the core of my curriculum and my book, The Writer’s Adventure Guide.
- I want to build a community, a group of supportive writers, and I want to lead us all to success by being who I really am, and supporting you to do the same.
- In business terms, I want to monetize my list. I want you all where I can see you and then offer you opportunities, a doorway, if you will, for you to buy: classes, customized coaching and consulting, and other stuff.
So if you’re curious to learn more, join us in this free community — yes a paying component will come later — please sign up for your 52 weeks of journaling, and accelerate your author career today.
I’m curious to hear what you think, so after you’ve joined in, drop a note and let me know!
PS. Updated 1/1/2011: My community is now called Writer’s Fun Zone Community, for serious fiction and nonfiction authors.
Way to go, Beth! This is an exciting new step, looking forward to seeing it unfold 🙂
Thanks Peter! I look forward to seeing you on the Community soon.
