\"\"<\/a>Annmarie Miles joins us again for another month with the\u00a0Writer\u2019s Fun Zone<\/a>. In today\u2019s article she gives us some tips on how to just write! Enjoy!<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

I’m really enjoying contributing to Writer’s Fun Zone. This year has been very exciting as I have had lots of opportunity to develop as a writer – WFZ is a part of that development.<\/p>\n

I decided at the beginning of 2013 that I would work hard on my writing, take it seriously and take every opportunity I could get.<\/strong> I also said that I would share what I’d learned as I found that other writers I interact with on social media and face to face were very generous with their time and talents – so I wanted to do the same.<\/p>\n

Something happened while I wasn’t looking… I wrote a book.<\/p>\n

Once I gave myself permission to be a writer I got to work.<\/strong> I started to write consistently and it was like a valve opened up. I started writing stories they and just kept flowing. I didn’t have publication in mind; I didn’t even have a book in mind. But the more I wrote, the more I loved it and so the more I wrote.\u00a0When I stopped to look, I had all these stories. They were on my fiction blog but some friends who know what they\u2019re talking about had a look at them and encouraged me to put them together in a collection. And so\u2026 by the time you read this I\u2019ll be preparing to launch my first collection of self-published short stories. I can\u2019t quite believe it myself. I’ve just chosen the cover design, but I think that until I\u2019m holding it in my hand I won\u2019t believe it is real.<\/p>\n

And as if that wasn’t enough excitement, my Lizzy stories from the\u00a0AtoZ Challenge<\/i>\u00a0http:\/\/www.writersfunzone.com\/<\/wbr>blog\/2013\/05\/27\/which-came-<\/wbr>first-the-fiction-or-the-blog-<\/wbr>by-annmarie-miles\/<\/a>]\u00a0<\/i>are going to be featured as a regular series in a local newspaper starting in the next few weeks. I had such fun writing \u2018Lizzy\u2019 and I knew that her story was going to continue. Like I say it\u2019s been a whirlwind of a year and I can\u2019t wait to see what happens next.<\/p>\n

Next month I\u2019m going to share with you some of the things\u00a0I’ve\u00a0learned about the self-publishing process and there\u2019ll also be a little competition too as we head towards the holiday season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As far as my tips for this month go, let me leave you with this\u2026.\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Just Write!<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Write every day.<\/p>\n

Write when you feel like it.<\/p>\n

Write when you don\u2019t.<\/p>\n

Write if you have something to say.<\/p>\n

Write if you have nothing to say.<\/p>\n

Write; and keep writing.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re not sure what to write,\u00a0free-write<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Free-writing<\/i><\/b>\u00a0get the words out of your head and on to the page. You can edit, proofread, correct, craft, fix & improve later. Here\u2019s a good way to remember how to free-write.<\/p>\n

F<\/b>\u00a0is for Fast<\/b>\u00a0\u2013 Write or type non-stop as fast as you can, for a certain amount of time. 10 minutes will do<\/p>\n

R<\/i><\/b>\u00a0is for Raw<\/i><\/b>\u00a0\u2013 Turn off the internal editor and just get the words down. You can edit, proofread, correct, craft, fix & improve later. For now just write.<\/p>\n

E<\/i><\/b>\u00a0is for Exact<\/i><\/b>\u00a0\u2013 choose precise descriptions. Instead of the fruit, write about the green car. Instead of the furniture, write about the oak table<\/p>\n

E<\/i><\/b>\u00a0is Easy<\/i><\/b>\u00a0\u2013 let the words rise in you and flow out of you<\/p>\n
