It\u2019s another thing to write a book about the end of the world as we know it.<\/strong> When I penned <a title=\"State of Emergency by Summer Lane\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1481949616\/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=1481949616&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=bethbaracreac-20\" target=\"_blank\">State of Emergency<\/a>, I wrote about the immediate effects of an EMP on the United States, and how one girl survived against all odds. With <a title=\"State of Chaos by Summer Lane\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1489559264\/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=1489559264&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=bethbaracreac-20\" target=\"_blank\"><i>State of Chaos<\/i><\/a>, the initial shock of the disaster has worn off, and things are turning really sour really fast. <i>Chaos<\/i> has a lot of survivalist adventure in it that the first installment did not \u2013 and by survivalist I mean a lot of things.<\/p>\n<p>First, Cassidy finds herself imprisoned in a labor camp, like I said in the blurb for the book. That\u2019s a big problem. Surviving in a labor camp takes some serious stamina, and it\u2019s different than surviving in the middle of the forest. Your enemy is not just hunger and thirst \u2013 it\u2019s also the guards patrolling the front gates.\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Second, Cassidy finds herself in a race against a force far bigger than she is: Omega, the shadow army that\u2019s rolled in and started taking over the country. It\u2019s too big for her to fight alone, so to survive this invasion, she\u2019ll have to have help. Professional help. Good help. Fighting help.<\/p>\n<p><strong>There are all kinds of survival stories.<\/strong> Survival in the wilderness, survival against impossible odds in impossible situations. <a title=\"State of Chaos by Summer Lane\" href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1489559264\/ref=as_li_tf_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=1489559264&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=bethbaracreac-20\" target=\"_blank\"><i>State of Chaos<\/i><\/a> has a little of everything \u2013 which is probably why I opted to go with this specific title. (I\u2019m so clever, I know.) It\u2019s a fight against an incredible odds. It\u2019s a romance. It\u2019s a little comedic at times.
