Series dominate bestseller lists, build diehard fanbases, and help you stack up your backlist. (Hello, passive income!)<\/p>\n

But there\u2019s no getting around the fact that they also come with more planning, more writing, and more commitment.<\/p>\n

So how do you know if your story deserves multiple installments, or if it should wrap up neatly within a single volume?<\/p>\n

While there isn\u2019t a one-size-fits-all answer, there are always clues<\/i>.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s dive into four key signs that your next project has series potential.<\/p>\n

1. Your world is bigger than one book<\/h2>\n

If your story is set in a world with its own history, politics, and culture<\/a> — a world you\u2019ve poured your heart into building — chances are one book won\u2019t do it justice.<\/p>\n
