The story is written and edited<\/strong>, then uploaded to Amazon or other platforms for release.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A couple of days run by and you check the account for activity and it\u2019s showing no takers. Give it a week to check again, still nothing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Not even reviews are showing up after weeks<\/strong>, even months, of your novel being published.<\/span><\/p>\n

So what is going on?\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Why won\u2019t my novel sell?<\/span><\/i>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Well, there could be several things that could stall your novel from selling, from marketing to engaging on social media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Believe it or not<\/strong>, these items could play an enormous factor in your novel being noticed.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The suggestions in this article could make an extreme difference in getting you and your novel seen.<\/span><\/p>\n

BUILD A PLATFORM<\/span><\/h2>\n

Start off by building an author\u2019s website.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With this<\/strong>, you could write blogs, embed a video of yourself or your voice by reading a line from your novel\u2014better yet, show a video of your hobbies with family members or friends.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Letting your readers see you interacting on a weekly basis can spark up for more traffic.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Fun fact:<\/b> If you don\u2019t know how to build a website, or have any ideas what to put in one, check out your favorite author\u2019s pages\u2014most times you will get a sense of how you want your website to look.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Go small, do nothing fancy.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

MARKETING ON SOCIAL MEDIA<\/span><\/h2>\n

Meta<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Instagram, TikTok, Twitter<\/span><\/i>, and <\/span>Pinterest<\/span><\/i> are great social media platforms to get your novel out for the world to see.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With the way of the world<\/strong>, and technology taking over often, this is a great way\u2014if not faster\u2014to get your novel noticed. Taking advantage of this trend can get your novel some attention if done right.<\/span><\/p>\n

To get started, create some eye-catching mockups to promote your novel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mockups are what most authors use for advertising<\/strong>. There are websites where these tools can be obtained for free (<\/span>The 3D Book Cover Creator You\u2019ll Love to Use (diybookcovers.com)<\/span><\/a> and all you have to do is plug your book cover in and any other information you choose.<\/span><\/p>\n

Please note, these sites may give you a limit on what and how you can use these images.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Some sites will give you a very professional look<\/strong>\u2014giving your book a second glance\u2014however, you will come out of pocket for these. (<\/span>Book Brush – Ads & Social Media Images for Authors<\/span><\/a>).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The outcome could give you an increased target audience for your novel.<\/span><\/p>\n

BOOKSTORES, LIBRARIES, RADIO. OH MY!<\/span><\/h2>\n

Did you know you can visit your local library or bookstore and let them know you\u2019re a local author?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You would be surprised by the excitement of those knowing there is a celebrity<\/i><\/strong>\u00a0in their town<\/strong>. Giving a couple of copies of your book and some merchandise can open doors tremendously.<\/span><\/p>\n

Having a book signing in one of these establishments isn\u2019t a bad idea either to get your novel noticed. You may think no one would show up to anything held at a library, but trust me with a great advertisement on your end along with the librarians, the outcome would shock you.<\/span><\/p>\n

Get to know the Disc Jockey\u2019s on your favorite radio program.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hint:<\/b> they\u2019re always on social media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Interact with them as much as you can for a few months or leading up to the release of your novel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sending a professional email letting them know you\u2019re a local author could spark a chance of you being on their morning show. You never know while you\u2019re driving to school or work they may do a shout-out on the air with your novel mentioned.<\/span><\/p>\n

Important note:<\/b> Don\u2019t<\/span><\/i>\u00a0do direct messaging (DMs), that\u2019s a huge turnoff for most.<\/span><\/p>\n

FINALLY, ALWAYS TALK ABOUT YOUR NOVEL<\/span><\/h2>\n

The more you talk about your novel, the more people would want to read it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Always have a catchy blurb or brief summary when someone asks about your novel<\/strong>. If you don\u2019t become excited about your creation, how do you expect anyone else will?<\/span><\/p>\n
