When I began my writing career,<\/strong> I felt like I was trudging through molasses\u2026 uphill\u2026 in a hurricane to get my first novel ready to publish.<\/span><\/p>\n

But now that I have a couple of years of being published under my belt, I\u2019m beginning to feel more secure about the process.<\/span><\/p>\n

As I\u2019ve explored different\/better ways to produce my novels,<\/strong> I\u2019ve heard about various software (other than Word) that other authors rave about.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, late last year, I took the jump and used three different \u201cwriting\u201d programs that I can\u2019t live without now. I find that they not only keep me organized, but they also allow me the freedom of creating my manuscripts at a faster pace.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Tools I Use to Write Faster\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Whether you are a pantser, plotter, or plantser (the combination of both), I feel you can find something with these three tools that will help you hone your craft.<\/span><\/p>\n

What\u2019s great is that no two people utilize them the same way<\/strong>. I can\u2019t tell you how many times I\u2019ve talked to other authors and am astonished at how they use them completely differently than I do.<\/span><\/p>\n

In this article, I\u2019ll outline the basic info the company gives, then show you examples of how my stuff looks.<\/span><\/p>\n

With that out of the way, let\u2019s get started!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Plottr\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Plottr<\/a> <\/strong>is the newest software I\u2019ve begun to use.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Basically, i<\/span>t\u2019s a downloadable outlining software that makes it easier for me to plot my novels.<\/span><\/p>\n

I love the visual versatility, letting me use subplots.<\/strong> They even offer templates to use for planning everything from mystery to romance.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Plottr\"<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

One of the best features I like is the \u201cSeries\u201d tab. Here I can keep a running synopsis of the series that I\u2019m writing in now.<\/span><\/p>\n

I admit that I\u2019m a visual thinker.<\/strong> I <\/span>absolutely <\/span>love<\/span><\/i>\u00a0that there are places to create characters, places, and notes that I can add pictures to, and I can access <\/span>all of t<\/span>hat, <\/span>no <\/span>matter what book I\u2019m plotting for.<\/span><\/p>\n

Another nice thing about Plottr is its ability to track different kinds of a<\/strong>ttributes<\/strong>, like flaws or personality traits or magical abilities. I can choose to make these attributes simple one-liners or, for extra information, add a whole paragraph.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
