A few months back I made a joke about how writer\u2019s block was an excuse to procrastinate.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Truthfully, it could. However, writer\u2019s block is and will always be a real thing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Although I\u2019m aware that writer\u2019s block happens to the best of us,<\/strong> I\u2019m also mindful of how annoying it can be especially when there are deadlines that need to be met.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Writer\u2019s Block?\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

\"\u00a9Photo<\/a>Writer\u2019s block occurs from the tiniest issues occurring in one\u2019s life. Yet the greatest catastrophes can bring this ailment on just the same. It\u2019s almost impossible to stay focused\u2014our creativity ends up suffering due to writer\u2019s block.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There are a few who would say that writer\u2019s block is all in the head and that it\u2019s basically an excuse not to write.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

I utterly disagree.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Not having enough money for next month\u2019s rent is a prime example that could place a writer in a mood where writing is the furthest thing from their mind.<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve come across writer\u2019s block on numerous occasions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For me, writer\u2019s block is usually caused by the stress of parenting.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every day I am my children\u2019s chef, chauffeur, counselor, personal assistant, and temporary teacher.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve tried to find online hacks on how to cope or eliminate this fate from my system permanently.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sadly, there\u2019s no easy cure to getting rid of writer\u2019s block for good.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Life will always be there throwing monkey wrenches in our way.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So what do we do?\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

How can writers alleviate this troublesome menace?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Luckily,<\/strong> there are various remedies that will clear that little bugger right up.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Defeat Writer\u2019s Block: Work On A Hobby\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

\"\u00a9Photo<\/a>Along with photography, I\u2019ve found gardening can be a great pastime when it comes to getting rid of writer\u2019s block.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A couple of hours in the garden can motivate me to come back to the area I was stuck in with my work in progress.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

In return, I have a nice garden filled with delicious vegetables and a variety of gorgeous flowers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If gardening isn\u2019t your cup of tea,<\/strong> cross-stitching, painting, and believe it or not, cooking can carry a writer out of the writer\u2019s block funk just perfectly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Overcome Your Writer’s Block: Organize Your Workspace\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

\"\u00a9Photo<\/a>This part may come across as meaningless work and several are probably wondering, \u201cHow in the world is this going to get me to write anything?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Well, here\u2019s the thing.<\/strong> Organizing can clear your mind, which could lead to ideas, and in turn, can lead you to add more scenes to your manuscript than just the one you\u2019re stuck on.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I started out writing a love story and became stuck with this ongoing enemy (dramatic whisper: writer’s block). So, I organized my workspace along with my bedroom and came up with a great scene. It was far better than the scene I had originally come up with and improved the story for the best.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Read Books, Go To A Movie, Go For A Walk, or Play Candy Crush\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

It doesn\u2019t necessarily need to be Candy Crush, but you understand the idea\u2026 Go do something fun to rid yourself of writer\u2019s block.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Going for walks can clear the mind from anything that\u2019s causing worry<\/strong> — the catalyst that\u2019s causing this annoying block.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Hanging with friends or family to catch a new movie release can definitely ease one\u2019s mind when that pesky writer\u2019s block invades. Seeing a story on the screen can inspire your writing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Reading is probably the best when it comes to writer\u2019s block.\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

\"\u00a9Photo<\/a>When reading a good book or an article in a magazine, you can learn something to help you with the stuck area of your story. I know this works best for me whenever I\u2019m finding it extremely tough to continue writing my manuscript.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Writer\u2019s Block May Be All In Our Heads\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Writer\u2019s block may be all in our heads, but it can be eliminated from our system without any harmful side effects.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The next time you find yourself stuck for words,<\/strong> or in drafting a new scene, try doing something other than writing. It can make your writing life so much more livable.<\/span><\/p>\n
