As 2020 slugs on, I\u2019ve taken stock of what I\u2019d like to add to my repertoire as a romance writer.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Back in May, I\u2019d written an article <\/span>(here)<\/span><\/a> about searching for other avenues of revenue I could pursue along with my author\u2019s career.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While I haven\u2019t found anything concrete (I\u2019m still looking)<\/strong>, I have found I enjoy writing these monthly articles.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So much so, I\u2019ve branched out and now have another monthly blog at <\/span>The Paranormal Romantics<\/span><\/a> site scheduled for the 10<\/span>th<\/span> of each month.<\/span><\/p>\n

Taking on this new venture<\/strong>, I decided to get a better understanding on what a blog is as opposed to an article.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Basically, the difference is moot, except an article is usually around 1,500 to 5,000 words while a blog is around 1,000.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is a blog supposed to do?<\/span><\/h2>\n

Now the next question is, what a blog is supposed to do?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Back in 2012, James Debono from <\/span>business2community<\/span><\/a> wrote:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cT<\/span>he purpose of a\u00a0<\/span>blog<\/b>\u00a0is to aid marketing to a point where the content you deliver is targeted specifically to the wants and needs of your audience. Provide answers to their most commonly asked questions or provide advice to areas within your niche that your business is an expert on.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"Woman<\/a>Okay, that sounds good.<\/strong> As a published author, marketing is something I should become well versed in to make my writing business successful.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Does anyone read blogs anymore in 2020?<\/span><\/h2>\n

So, the main question is, does anyone read blogs anymore in 2020? Has social media made them obsolete?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In other words,<\/strong> do people still read something that has 1,000 words, even if it only takes them on average 7.7 minutes to do so?<\/span><\/p>\n

In an article on <\/span>Dreamscribe<\/span><\/a>, titled \u201cThe Future of Blogging,\u201d the author, Katie, brings up some interesting points to consider:<\/span><\/p>\n
