Future articles will get into more tech details re: formatting. For each distributor I list:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>where you sign in<\/li>\n<li>royalties<\/li>\n<li>what formatting is required for your book<\/li>\n<li>and how they pay.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>KINDLE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Formatting help: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ehow.com\/how_4494481_convert-ebooks-kindle-format.html\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.ehow.com\/how_4494481_convert-ebooks-kindle-format.html<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Sign in: <a href=\"https:\/\/dtp.amazon.com\/mn\/signin\" target=\"_blank\">https:\/\/dtp.amazon.com\/mn\/signin<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Royalties: 70% &#8211;&gt; To qualify for the 70 percent royalty option, books must satisfy the following set of requirements:<br \/>\n\u2022\tThe author or publisher-supplied list price must be between $2.99 and $9.99<br \/>\n\u2022\tThis list price must be at least 20 percent below the lowest physical list price for the physical book<br \/>\n&#8212; WORKS only on books sold through amazon.com.<\/li>\n<li>How pays: after earnings of $10+ (bank transfer) ($100 for checks) and 60 days after sales<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>PUBIT\/ BARNES &amp; NOBLE<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sign in: <a href=\"http:\/\/pubit.barnesandnoble.com\/pubit_app\/bn?t=pi_reg_home\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/pubit.barnesandnoble.com\/pubit_app\/bn?t=pi_reg_home<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Format: epub\/doc<\/li>\n<li><strong>Royalties<\/strong>: Publisher will be paid a royalty off the List Price according to the following terms:<\/li>\n<li>For eBooks with a List Price at or between $2.99 and $9.99\n<ul>\n<li>65% of the List Price<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>For eBooks with a List Price at or below $2.98 or at or greater than $10.00 (but not more than $199.99 and not less than $0.99)\n<ul>\n<li>40% of the List Price<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>How pays: &#8220;In most cases, you will be paid 60 days after the close of the calendar month in which the sale occurs.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>SMASHWORDS<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.smashwords.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.smashwords.com\/<\/a>: .epub; you get to choose your e-book distributors; I recommend iBook and Sony Reader.<\/li>\n<li>Formatting: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.smashwords.com\/books\/view\/52\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.smashwords.com\/books\/view\/52<br \/>\n<\/a>**Keep in mind that Smashwords has very specific formatting requirements before your book can be uploaded for iBook\/iPad.<\/li>\n<li>Royalties: 60% of List Price from Major Ebook Retailers; 85% from sales off the Smashwords site<\/li>\n<li>How pays: Smashwords sales: 30-40 days after sale and $10.00 for all authors who want electronic payment via Paypal. Vendor sales: 40 days after the close of each quarter<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That&#8217;s it for now!<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff6600;\">Go be prosperous! {Isn&#8217;t so cool we can get our books out there now?!}<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>PS.
