\"Energy\"<\/a>Let\u2019s welcome back monthly columnist Nevada McPherson<\/a> as she shares with us \u201cThanks for the Energy!\u201d Enjoy!<\/p>\n

***<\/p>\n

As I get a bit older, one of the things I\u2019m most grateful for are those times when my energy is high and I\u2019m in the creative zone.<\/strong> So many times after a hard day, it\u2019s easy to come home and crash, with plans of getting up later to do some writing, or other right brain activity.<\/p>\n

So many times though, evening turns to night and night turns to day again without my making as much progress as I\u2019d planned or no progress at all.<\/p>\n

Then the weekend rolls around and I try to fit in several things I\u2019ve been meaning to do, often scattering my energies like leaves caught in an autumn breeze.<\/p>\n

In previous posts<\/a>, I\u2019ve written about the importance of grabbing random moments here and there during a busy day or week in which to jot some notes, a scene, a page, a paragraph; for Heaven\u2019s sake even a line of dialogue is better than nothing!<\/p>\n

Staying in touch with one\u2019s creative side while dealing with the busy-ness and stresses of everyday life is vitally important, so these brief moments to connect with the writer-artist inside, no matter what one does for a living, provides a welcome refuge for those who can\u2019t make it to the coffee shop with the laptop for a few hours of uninterrupted work.<\/p>\n

Energy!<\/h2>\n

That\u2019s why when I do get those moments where I\u2019m blessed with the energy to truly,<\/strong> actively engage in my creative work<\/strong>, to lose myself in it so that all cares melt away and I\u2019m consciously very happy in what I\u2019m doing, I embrace them with my whole heart and with tremendous gratitude. I\u2019ve learned that having time alone isn\u2019t always enough, so energy is key<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Whether or not writing is your full-time work, do you ever have those days where you sit at the keyboard, at home or your favorite coffee shop, waiting?<\/p>\n

Or things seem to come in fits and starts?<\/p>\n

Even another cup of coffee doesn\u2019t seem to do the trick?<\/p>\n

That\u2019s okay!<\/p>\n

But those are the times that make one appreciate even more the times where real energy is in play.<\/p>\n

Animated, fully-engaged, and in the zone is the best way to spend an afternoon, evening, early morning or late night.<\/p>\n

When the energy is there, ignore the clock, go with the flow and sleep later.<\/strong><\/p>\n

When you experience the exhilaration of feeling great while doing what you love best\u2014it\u2019s truly a cause to give thanks!<\/p>\n
