The 2018 Heathen Calendar and 2018 Slavic Calendar need 12 artworks each. Caliburn Press<\/a> is offering royalties.<\/p>\n

The 2017 calendars were our first calendars, and we chose to use public domain art for our first year. This time we want to use art by living artists. We would like for the art to be suitable for use as devotional art after it is used for the calendar year. That is, we intend that these calendars not be disposable objects, but rather that the art will be removed and framed or used on altars. That’s why we print them on heavy paper stock.<\/p>\n

As you can see, these are not just standard calendars with heathen and Slavic art, but are actual pagan holiday calendars with the Heathen holidays on the Heathen calendar and Slavic holidays on the Slavic calendar. The 2018 calendars will also have these holidays, recalculated for 2018.<\/p>\n

Format<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Like the 2017 calendars, the 2018 calendars will have art printed on 8 1\/2″ x 11″ horizontal paper. The 2017 calendars included both vertical and horizontal art, so we printed frames around them, but for the 2018 calendars we’d like to print the art full page, so art submitted for the calendars must be suitable for full color printing at that size, and must be horizontal. Please subject jpg files.<\/p>\n

Payment<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Each calendar will have 12 artworks. Each artwork will yield 2% royalties to the artist. So, for example, an artist who has 2 artworks in one calendar would get 4% of that calendar’s proceeds, and an artist with 1 artwork in each calendar would get 2% of each calendar.<\/p>\n

Subject matter<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Mythology, fairy tales, folklore, ritual practices such as dance, music, blessings, holidays, festivals, magic, seasonal practices, possibly history if related to religion, rites of passage, symbols, temples, sacred objects, etc. So far we have not yet accepted any art, but one artist is likely to send us art of Svalin the Aurora Goddess, so we probably won’t want another one of that subject. We’ll try not to have more than one of any given subject each year. Subjects that have that been in previous years are fine. If you have several different art images that fit this description and are not sure which one we would want, please inquire.<\/p>\n
