I find yoga to be very calming and though not it\u2019s not always easy, I can tell it\u2019s very good for me.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes it takes months to be able to do a particularly difficult pose, but once learned it becomes a part of my practice and I find that putting in the time and patience to hold a pose such as Tree or Headstand especially rewarding.<\/p>\n<p>It occurred to me the other day that <strong>yoga can be much like writing<\/strong>. I enjoy it when it\u2019s going well and if I don\u2019t work at my writing in some way, shape or form for a few days I get cranky and my creative muscles get creaky.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s definitely not easy, but sticking with a project all the way to completion is rewarding and builds my confidence, so that I can tackle the next project.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m in the midst of a rather difficult project now, as you may recall from <a href=\"https:\/\/writersfunzone.com\/blog\/2017\/01\/12\/adaptations-and-transformations-for-2017-by-nevada-mcpherson\/\" target=\"_blank\">my last post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m adapting one of my screenplays into a play.<\/p>\n<p>Trying to adapt a story into a different medium can be quite challenging at times.<\/p>\n<p>As much as I love dramatic writing, I find that I\u2019m working different creative muscles more than I had anticipated. Though it isn\u2019t making me sore physically, it\u2019s still a change and is sometimes a slow-go.<\/p>\n<p>I believe, however, that if I stick with it, it will ultimately be lots of fun and extremely rewarding.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div align=\"center\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/ctt.ec\/eRpa3\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/clicktotweet.com\/img\/tweet-graphic-1.png\" alt=\"Tweet: Working on a project that stretches you to the limit? Stick w\/ it until it\u2019s finished @NevadaNoisyMuse<\/a><\/p>\n<p><i>(You can edit before publishing.)<\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>For one thing,<\/strong>\u00a0I look forward to participating in the collaborative experience of theatre and working with others to bring characters to life.<\/p>\n<p>Again, like with yoga, writing can be a very solitary pursuit, and a home practice can provide much needed reflective time and facilitate turning inward.<\/p>\n<p>Oftentimes, however, taking a yoga class with a knowledgeable, helpful teacher and other yogis who are working at their practice is a very helpful and a welcome thing that rejuvenates me and improves my home practice.<\/p>\n<h2>Perhaps all of us can be literary yogis when it comes to stretching our minds and creative efforts.<\/h2>\n<p>I certainly can\u2019t say that my adaptation project is easy.
