(I actually was along for the ride, while Ezra spoke and attended the conference.)<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\" draggable=\"false\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\">For us northern Californians, the heat was, um, new, and something to adjust to!<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\" draggable=\"false\"><span draggable=\"false\"><span draggable=\"false\">We learned that:<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\" draggable=\"false\"><span draggable=\"false\"><span draggable=\"false\">&#8212;\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Conferences are a great place to put a face to a name!<\/span>\u00a0I had a great time meeting authors at the Literacy Signing and can see me at the signing one day. (Beth)<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\" draggable=\"false\"><span draggable=\"false\"><span draggable=\"false\">&#8212; There are readers that make a point to go to the Literacy Signing every year, saving their money the whole year. Avid readers in the flesh!\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Would you travel across the country to meet your favorite authors?<\/span>\u00a0(Beth)<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\" draggable=\"false\"><span draggable=\"false\"><span draggable=\"false\">&#8212; It was an opportunity to get to know the special features of the conference city.\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">It<\/span>\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">makes the visit feel real\u00a0<\/span>and is great fodder for future stories. (Beth)<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\" draggable=\"false\"><span draggable=\"false\"><span draggable=\"false\">&#8212;\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Amazon likely ranks books higher<\/span>\u00a0when you have both the ebook and the print book, and not just the ebook. (Ezra)<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\" draggable=\"false\"><span draggable=\"false\"><span draggable=\"false\">&#8212;\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Publishers normally don&#8217;t want just the print rights<\/span>, they want to have both the print and ebook rights. (Ezra)<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\" draggable=\"false\"><span draggable=\"false\"><span draggable=\"false\">&#8212;\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\" draggable=\"false\">To get foreign translation rights, contact a literary agent<\/span>, not an editor\/publisher. The agent should be someone who normally helps indie authors. (Ezra)<\/span><\/span>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"color: #262626;\" draggable=\"false\"><span draggable=\"false\">&#8212;\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: bold;\" draggable=\"false\">Regularly publish products on Amazon.com, every 60-90 days<\/span>\u00a0&#8212; audio, print, ebook, bundles, etc. That can helps your sales, according to published authors who spoke at the conference.\u00a0(Ezra)<\/span><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We Traveled!
