Simplify and Downsize, Oh My!

Hello Everyone! It’s been a while! I wanted to update you on a few things and see how you all were. I hope well!

To simplify my life, I’ve decided to send out my author newsletter only monthly for now, instead of weekly. I’ll post sporadically on my author blog too, for now. That may change in the future. I’ll tell you why I’m making this change in a moment.

I still want to communicate with my readers weekly, so I’ll be posting on my FB page: https://www.facebook.com/bethbarany, and on my Street Team FB group. (If you want to sign up for that, go here for details: http://writersfunzone.com/street-team/)

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

We’re still settling back into our apartment after the flood accident that happened back at the end of November. There’s a few handfuls of boxes yet to unpack and bags of books to give away. Yep, we’re sorting through everything as we unpack. (Downsizing!)

It’s been okay sometimes and frustrating at other times. I’ve been avoiding the boxes to do work, but it’s hard to focus with my stuff is in boxes in the middle of the room. Pissing me off! {You know what I mean?!}

One of my friends pointed out that it’s a grieving process letting go of stuff that used to mean something to me, and no longer does. That version of me no loner exists. {Sigh}

So I’m leaving space for the grieving process…

WHY THE CHANGES

My science fiction mystery series is still front and center for my next book series, but won’t be published until Spring 2020.

Pushed back the pub date because I needed to put less pressure (and stress!) on myself during the editing process. I felt like I was rushing and that would be fair to you, my readers.

So doing a monthly newsletter will help me because it’s one less weekly task to do. 😉

I’m still taking edits and feedback from the Early Reader team, so if that’s you, and you owe me pages, you can still get them to me. 🙂 Thanks! You’re awesome!

FOR FUN

I get lots of ideas from reading Futurism https://futurism.com/ and ScienceDaily.com https://www.sciencedaily.com.

I also really loved reading Amy Webb’s THE SIGNALS ARE TALKING. https://amywebb.io/books/.

When I remember, I love sharing cool NASA news online and sharing NASA’s Image of the Day, which can be found here: https://www.nasa.gov/multimedia/imagegallery/iotd.html.

The image for this post is of the Star Formation in the Orion Nebula, which I love. https://www.nasa.gov/image-feature/star-formation-in-the-orion-nebula/.

Wouldn’t it be cool if Janey McCallister, my space station investigator, could see this nebula when she’s sipping her drink at Sky Bar, off duty of course?!

How are you? What are you geeking out about? I’d love to hear! Post in the comments below.
